The St. Tammany Parish Public School Board’s 21st Century Community Learning Center was awarded a new three-year grant which will serve the community from September 2016 – August 2019. The 21st CCLC Aspire Program is based on the principle that every child can be inspired every day when surrounded by dedicated staff. The mission of the 21st CCLC is to provide a safe, caring, enriching environment for students and to foster positive relationships between family, school, and community.
Each of the four learning centers provide academic and cultural enriching opportunities to empower students to reach their full academic and social potential and to develop strong citizens who are well prepared for college and careers.
The afterschool program provides academic enrichment activities aligned with school day curriculum, math and reading fluency activities daily, homework assistance and a nutritional snack. Enrichment programs include art, African drumming, recreational sports, academic games, and computer skill based activities. Family engagement opportunities are offered during the afterschool program as well as in the evenings.
Each of the four learning centers offer a summer program every year.
