| This nutrition education program is geared to children in the primary grades. The program coordinates cafeteria and classroom activities that teach nutrition and promote opportunities for children to make healthy food choices. As a result, students are consuming diets which promote the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) dietary guidelines of increased fiber and decreased sugar, salt, and fat. This program was designated as the most outstanding program of its kind by the Society for Nutrition Education in 1990. | |||
