“Homework” is approached a little bit differently in Pre-k, as opposed to the other grades here at Chahta-Ima. You will see a newsletter come home at the beginning of each week telling you what we will be learning about, as well as any important information that you may need relating to upcoming events or classroom plans/ needs. Included in each newsletter there will be a list of suggested activities that you may do at home with your child. These are activities that we believe will help to reinforce what we are learning at school and to foster good habits for Kindergarten and the coming grades. Many of these assignments are not written assignments and do not need to be returned to school. Please take some time to establish a routine for homework with your child, such as a special time and place in which homework will be done each night. At this level we encourage you to spend this time with your child to talk about what he/she did during the day and encourage him/her to speak in full sentences and try his/her best. Most suggested activities should only take, at the most 10 or 15 minutes. Thank you for showing your child how much you value his/her education!! You truly make all the difference !
