Chahta-Ima Elementary is located in Lacombe, LA in St. Tammany Parish. It is north of Lake Pontchartrain
on the south side of I-12. Chahta-Ima Elementary serves students in Pre-school - 3rd grade.

After being destroyed by fire, Chahta-Ima Elementary opened as a K-4 elementary school in 1977. A pre-kindergarten was added in 1986. A non-categorical preschool program was added in 1991. In 1996, due to redistricting changes, the fourth grade shifted to Bayou Lacombe Middle School. Chahta-Ima's grade structure of Pre-kindergarten through Grade 3 is self-contained. Currently the school is staffed by a principal, an assistant principal, a technology resource teacher (TRT), a part-time mental health provider, 2 part-time time guidance counselors, 2 part time speech therapists, 27 certified teachers, 11 paraprofessionals, and 7 tutors.


Car riders may be dropped off
at 8:00 am and picked up
at 3:31 p.m. on the west side of
the building.
Bus riders are dropped off
between 8:00 am
and 8:30 am. The buses pick
up the students at 3:31 pm.
